“The Voice of those affected by Head Injury”
“Te Korero o ratou kau pangia i nga mate ki te mahunga”
AffiliateWe are invited you and your friend to become a member of the Head Injury Society of New Zealand The Head Injury Society of New Zealand is a nation wide charitable organisation that provides care and support to those who have suffered a head injury. The mission of the Society is to ensure a quality of life maximising potential, choice and independence for people with acquired head injury, their families and carers. The Society carries out their mission quietly and without fanfare. Each year over 30,000 New Zealanders are effected in some form by head injury - 10,000 serious enough to warrant admission to the intensive care unit of one of our hospitals. All too often the survivors will suffer long term changes such as mood swings, inappropriate social behaviour and loss of previous competencies. Head injury is not as visible (or fashionable) a problem in our health sector as are some others. But too often it will result in a life sentence for the whole family. We invite you to contribute to the work of the Society by becoming a member of one of our Affiliates. Please contact any Affiliate or the National Office. Yours truly, All of Us from |
